In USC's second match of the afternoon the Trojans struck first when Alexandra Poletto and Maja Kaiser defeated Pepperdine's Nikki Lyons and Kaity Bailey 21-19, 21-16 on court five. UCLA would have the final word as twin sisters Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara beat USC's Terese Cannon and Abril Bustamante on court one with a final score of 21-17 21-18. The Women of Troy continued to battle as the duo of Haley Hallgren and Sammy Slater tallied another point on the scoreboard for USC with their win over the Bruin pair of Madi Yeomans and Elise Zappia 21-19, 21-18 on court three. UCLA pushed ahead once again as Lily Justine and Sarah Sponcil beat USC's Brianna Sizemore and Joy Dennis 21-11, 21-18 on court two. The Trojans tied up the score as senior pair Jo Kremer and Jenna Belton defeated UCLA's Mac May and Savvy Simo 21-12, 21-15 on court four. In the first match against UCLA, the Bruins claimed the first point of the dual with a 21-12, 21-12 victory by Izzy Carey and Megan Muret over USC's Alexandra Poletto and Maja Kaiser on court five. It is also the first time the Trojans have lost two matches in a row since 2013 when they lost three in a row.
